Sipaf 2016’s theme has its inspiration from the content of the book of the prophet Hosea, and especially from the metaphor that God uses to compare His people Israel to a prostitute who chases her lovers, having forgotten His first husband (referring to himself as His own person):
«She will chase her lovers, but not overtake them; she will seek them, but not find them. Then she will say, “I will go and return to my first husband, for then it was better for me than now”» (Hosea 2:7-8, NKJV).
Through this heart-felt analogy, God fully expresses the pain of His bowels, as a husband who feels rejected by his wife, as a lover whose faithful love is unrequited. This laceration comes from a clear observation: you can’t love truly and faithfully who you don’t know. To follow in fact – in chapter four, verses one and two – we find new moving words to Israel:
«There is no truth or mercy or knowledge of God in the land. By swearing and lying, killing and stealing and committing adultery, they break all restraint, with bloodshed upon bloodshed» (NKJV).
Even if here the reference to the adultery is made between humans, the first real adultery that goes through all the Old Testament is by all the people to the person of God; this outrage culminates in the certainty that even those who had been appointed as mediators between Him and the people, they had betrayed Him turning to other gods.
All this looked like a mirror of what is happening today. That’s why this year doesn’t want to be the exposure of an explored cognitively or a perspective professorial theme, but the creation of an event that manifests the cry of the Father’s heart for this generation, His invitation to know Him for who He really is. We are in a globalization era, where the use of information and knowledge has reached the whole planet – or might – but never like today the need to sanctify the name of God is so important: how many have had a real experience with the Father’s presence?
That’s why we want to welcome and also promote all those performances born from the heart of artists who – motivated by the desire to investigate into the folds of His heart – seal the breath of the absolute and transforming passion that lives in them since when they had a powerful experience with God the Father.
